Delete your Wordly data
How to delete your account and the personal data associated with it — including if you signed in with Facebook or Google.
Last updated: October 8, 2026
1. How to request deletion
- Send an email to [contact email not yet configured] with the subject “Delete my Wordly account”.
- Send it from the email address of your Wordly account (if you signed in with Facebook or Google, use the email address of that account), so we can confirm the request is yours.
- We confirm by email once your account has been deleted.
If you have an active Premium subscription, cancel it first in Account → “Manage billing” (or at link.com) so you aren't charged again; we can also cancel it for you as part of the deletion.
Signed in with Facebook? You can also remove Wordly from your Facebook account under Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites. That stops Facebook sharing data with Wordly; to delete the data Wordly already holds, send the email above.
2. What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- your sign-in account (email address and any Google/Facebook sign-in link and profile details received from them);
- your vocabulary ratings, flashcard and word-check history, reading activity, XP and progress;
- stories you imported;
- your optional profile and preferences, including your marketing-email choice;
- your subscription record in Wordly;
- analytics data linked to your account, which we ask our analytics provider to delete.
This cannot be undone.
3. What may be kept
- Payment records: if you bought Premium, Stripe keeps transaction and tax records as the law requires; Wordly doesn't hold your card details.
- Backups: deleted data can remain in encrypted backups for a short time until they are overwritten.
- Anonymous information: data that no longer identifies you, such as aggregate usage counts and the shared word list and translations, is not personal data and may be kept.
- Legal obligations: we may keep specific information if we are required to by law or need it to resolve a dispute, and only for as long as necessary.
4. Timeframe
We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days and will tell you if we need longer.
